Tibet Youth Congress protest outside Chinese embassy in Delhi

Members of the Tibet Youth Congress (TYC) staged a protest outside the Chinese Embassy in Delhi today, denouncing the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) repressive policies in Tibet. The demonstration coincided with the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The protesters had arrived in the national capital after completing a cycle rally from Dehradun, aimed at drawing attention to ongoing human rights abuses and the suppression of Tibetan culture under China’s Communist party. The multi-day rally sought to raise awareness about the situation in Tibet and call for international solidarity against China’s oppressive measures.
Police swiftly intervened, detaining the demonstrators to prevent further protests near the embassy. While the protestors were taken into custody, they are expected to be released after routine questioning.
Before being detained, a TYC representative declared, “We are here to peacefully protest the Chinese Communist Party’s brutal occupation of Tibet. The world must acknowledge the suffering of the Tibetan people and oppose this injustice.”
The Tibet Youth Congress, one of the largest Tibetan activist groups, remains steadfast in its campaign for Tibetan freedom and autonomy, despite China’s stringent policies. Today’s protest underscores the ongoing efforts of Tibetan activists to challenge Beijing’s control and draw international attention to their cause.
